16-room mansion and 5,500-acre mountaintop estate in Moultonborough, NH, overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee and the Ossipee Mountains. Designed by Boston architect Thomas Beal for a prosperous shoe manufacturer, the mansion was completed in 1914 and is an unusual example of Arts and Crafts architecture in New England. The estate, which includes a stable/garage, a greenhouse, gatehouses, farm buildings and a golf course, was eventually opened to the public after a series of bad investments were made by the owner, and the house and contents auctioned off. Visitors may take a self-guided tour of the house as it was in the early 1900s; visit the Art Gallery, and hike. A gift shop and restaurant are on the premises.

The Currier Museum of Art, located in Manchester, NH, features European and American paintings, decorative arts, photographs and sculpture. The permanent collection includes works by Picasso, Matisse, Monet, O'Keeffe, Calder, John Singer Sargent, Frank Lloyd Wright, Andrew Wyeth, and Sol LeWitt. Special exhibitions provide opportunities to present work by contemporary and/or local artists, as well as take in-depth looks at certain objects or areas of the Museum's collection. Public programs include tours, live classical music and “Family Days” which include activities for all ages. The Museum also offers tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Zimmerman House, now listed on the Register of Historic Places (reservations required). There is a museum store on the premises.

John Hay Estate at The Fells

The Fells, originally the summer home of 20th century American statesman John Milton Hay, is an 83.5 acre estate with a 22-colonial Revival home, extensive formal and informal gardens, and trails overlooking Lake Sunapee. The property, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, includes land and buildings originally part of the John Hay National Wildlife Refuge, created in 1987 for migratory bird conservation. Guided and self-guided tours of the garden and house, which include history and ecology exhibits and an art gallery, are available—check the website before going. A souvenir shop is on the premises.

This single day free pass admits up to 2 adults and accompanying household children under age 18 to the John Hay Estate at The Fells, Main House and Grounds.(Not valid for programs or events for which an additional fee applies such as Fairy Festival, Hay Day, or Christmas at The Fells.) The main house and shop are open seasonally, Memorial Day through Columbus Day (see website for specific times and dates). The grounds are open year round.
Present the pass for admission at the Welcome Kiosk at The Fells. (During off hours if the Kiosk is unattended put the form into the Admission Box.)

Strawbery Banke Museum

Strawbery Banke Museum is located in the South End Historic District of Portsmouth, NH, on a 10-acre campus that features more than 37 restored buildings built between the 17th and 19th centuries. Visitors may visit the historic buildings, some with staff in period dress engaged in traditional crafts such as boat-building, coopering, and wood-working; enjoy interactive exhibits about the history of the neighborhood and its preservation; and stroll and appreciate the heritage gardens and orchards, various heirloom breeds, and beehives. Themed centers provide different pathways for understanding the history. A museum store and a couple of restaurants are on the premises.

Woodman Museum

Created in 1915 with money from a philanthropist interested in promoting history, science and the arts to her fellow Dover citizens, the eclectic Woodman Institute Museum includes a medicinal & industrial garden; the oldest Sycamore tree in Strafford County; and four historic houses filled with artifacts connected to the nation's and Dover's past: The Woodman House (1818), The Damm Garrison House (1675), The John Parker Hale House (1813), and The Keefe House (1825). Of note in the museum's collection is the saddle used by President Abraham Lincoln when he rode to review troops shortly before his assassination. Changing exhibitions of artwork at the Thom Hindle Gallery include works available for purchase.

Pass allows 2-for-1 admission or 1/2 price for a single admission on the admission fees of $15 for adults; $10 for seniors over age 65, Adult Students, Teachers, or Military; and $7 for youth ages 4 - 17. The last museum tour departs at 3:30pm. The Woodman Museum is closed December through March 31.
