In writing and revising poems, poets are able to express hardships, loss, joy and a multitude of emotions that are otherwise hard to express. In learning how to write poetry, one can find a version of themselves that one may not have been aware of. In this lecture/discussion based course, participants will gain an understanding of poetical tone, imagery, and rhyme schemes. And we will work to develop a literary voice unique to you. Poetic expression can be one of the more liberating endeavors in one’s life. This six week course is taught by Shane Morin.  It is not necessary to attend all six classes, but you will get the most out of the course if you do.
