The Holocaust is one of the most studied topics in history and still leaves people wondering how something so horrific could have taken place.

Presenter Mick Grzonka hopes to provide some answers in his virtual presentation: “The Duty to Remember – But What? Holocaust 80 Years After” at the Dover Public Library on Wednesday, January 27 at 6:30PM. The event is sponsored by the Dover Public Library and their Friends group.

The carefully researched lecture will provide some historical context of events in Nazi Germany and the reason behind the Nazi regime’s rise to power. It will also shed light on the background against which the Pogrom Night, and later, the Holocaust took place. Finally, Gronzka will explore how common, “normal” people were convinced to contribute to the horrors. There is something for everyone in the presentation – even those familiar with the topic. Discussion will follow the program and attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
