Join us on Saturday, January 25 at 2pm for STEM Saturday: Make an Electromagnet.

What is an electromagnet and how do they work?  An electromagnet is a temporary magnet.  It is only magnetic when there is electricity.  The electricity from the battery flows from the battery through the copper wire and to the nail.  It temporarily arranges the molecules in the nail, making the nail magnetic.
