Meaningful Conversations can be a personally satisfying experience for everyone and these conversations can bring people together in friendship with a feeling of human connection. These weekly conversations, focused on such topics as “The Arts as Inspiration,” “Healing Racism,” and “Mind Full or Mindful?” began during the pandemic as part of a national initiative to bring people together in conversation about moral and social matters.

There are about 50 Meaningful Conversation Groups running in cities across the United States at the present time. Meaningful Conversation discussion groups regularly draw new participants each week and all people are welcome to attend and to speak. The discussion format is meant to encourage questioning, discussion and understanding with the further intention to use values and morals to inspire positive action in the community.

The idea of Meaningful Conversations is to expand the number of people engaging in nonjudgmental, meaningful conversations on deep topics. We want to encourage people to explore different aspects of our social and spiritual nature and then apply that understanding and energy to do good work in the community. In The Meaningful Conversations Group topics are crafted to bring up ideas that concern society at large from a social, healing perspective. It is clear we are bringing these ideas to the discussion to support communication, creativity and unity which we hope will positively affect the conditions of our world.
