For some people the sound of a long, complex word makes the gears turn in their head and sets their heart aflutter.

If complicated words excite you, then come to the Dover Public Library for an Adult Spelling Bee on Tuesday, September 11 at 6:30pm.

Teams of up to four people are invited to challenge others in a spell-off. Single participants can join others to form a team. The announcer will give each individual team a word, then they will have 30 seconds to spell it. Teams that spell their word correctly will advance to the next round. Teams that have misspelled their word have the option to use one their three lifelines to stay in the game.

The last two teams standing will have a spell-off and the winner will receive a prize. The event is free and open to the public.
